Poker is a card game which is played by groups of people around a circular table. Players put a bet in a central pot and compete with each other to develop the best hand. Next, the first player makes a bet. If the player is the only one making a bet, he is considered an active player. He will be called to make a bet if the rest of the players do not. Those who fold will be called to make a bet, and if they do not owe the pot, they will be checked.<\/p>\n
As with any card game, poker involves psychology. Players must be able to read and predict their opponents’ hands and bet accordingly. For example, if a player has a pair of kings, he may fold if someone has a pair of aces.
